Nature Trails - Town and Country (2.5 km)GPS-Track

Experience the close proximity of town and country on this short trail. Passing a heron colony on your left you follow the path, known as Ortweg, down to the River Rhine. High water transforms part of the riverbank into an island, an "Orth" or place – hence the path's name. Walking downstream with a wide view in front of you, you reach the mouth of the Old Rhine, where many fish enter the wetland waters. There they find safe spawning beds and sufficient food. The final part of the trail follows the edge of the charming village of Urdenbach.
